Elisabetta Fiorillo’s career began in 1983, when she won the Battistini Competition in Rieti, and was immediately noted for her qualities as a dramatic mezzo especially suited for Verdi, particularly acclaimed for her interpretations of Eboli (Don Carlo), Amneris (Aida), Preziosilla (La Forza del Destino) Ulrica (Un Ballo in Maschera) and most of all as Azucena in Il Trovatore.


She regularly appears in the principal European opera houses such as: Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Hamburg Staatsoper, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Liceu in Barcelona. As well as Verdi’s operatic works, Elisabetta Fiorillo’s repertoire includes his Requiem Mass, which she sang in various occasions in principal theatres in Europe with conductors as Giuseppe Sinopoli and Riccardo Muti.
