Edward Travaglianti, former Chairman and CEO of European American Bank, passed away on Tuesday evening. He was 72 years old. A fifty-one year veteran of commercial banking in the New York Metropolitan area, Travaglianti had a distinguished and prominent career in the banking industry.

He helped lead the growth and success of European American Bank where he served as the bank’s Chairman and CEO for more than a decade. At the time of EAB’s acquisition by Citibank in 2001, he was appointed President of Commercial Markets of CitiBank N.A. After retiring from CitiBank in 2002, Travaglianti resumed his banking career at Commerce Bank in 2004.
