Her father is actor and musician Bill Hudson who was also the vocalist in The Hudson Brothers, a band he formed in 1965 with his two brothers, Brett and Mark. 

Her parents, Bill and Cindy,first met at a celebrity baseball event while shooting for “Laverne and Shirley.” 

He was soon to impress Cindy,sending her a book by Martha Lear titled “Heart Sounds” for Christmas. 

They got married in 1982 and gave birth to Emily the same year.

They were in marital bliss for nearly two decades before they decided to call it quits. 

They got divorced in 2000. Cindy did not remarry after her divorce from Bill.

Her mother passed away after a brief illness
